Heavy Metal Clouds
Let me whisper into you, oh stone of wisdom.
Take my secrets—carry some of this burden.
Heavy Metal Clouds is a performative lecture and guided meditation exploring the entanglements of minerals, toxicity, memory, and digital technology. Drawing from field notes at a toxic lake in Inner Mongolia, it considers the digital sphere as a haunted, spectral entity—shaped by extraction and environmental violence.
Phones, clouds, and circuits are treated as ritual objects—archives of grief, deep time, and ecological collapse. Instead of framing climate change as distant, the work brings it into the intimate space of the body, the screen, and the breath.
It asks:
How do we live ethically with the ghosts we carry in our pockets?
