Open Process STUDIO
Monday 19th – Thursday 22nd October
Open Process Night is doing something new! For 4 days in October we will have the studio at Skogen as a space for testing out ideas. Instead of just presenting a work and getting feedback, there will now be 4 days of testing and playing, with plenty of discussion and reflection time, all to support the creation and process of an idea. The final work will then be presented at Open Process Night on the Thursday, to an audience.
Do you have a work that needs space, tech, or the element of time? Perhaps a text reading, performance, sound/video work, or workshop — something that's difficult to test alone in the studio and could benefit from the energy of a live setting.
For this Open Process Studio, send in an idea that could benefit from some days of testing and reflection — something you want to delve deeper into with the support of a small group of other people. We'll work together over the 4 days as a collective, giving space for each person and their work to play, while also taking time to learn about each other's practices and ideas.
It's important that you can be available for most of the 4 days. We'll work during the day from roughly 9–17, with the final event on Thursday from 18–21. At Skogen we have projectors, speakers, and microphones available — otherwise, please bring along whatever else you might need.
The application (collected in one PDF document) must contain:
- Name/artist name
- A short description of what you want to work with during the week, and how you think Open Process Studio would benefit the work.
- For example: a finished film you want to explore new ways of projecting; a text reading that could use help with editing or delivery; a participatory performance that needs testing out.
- Feel free to add images if they help illustrate your idea.
